Dan’s Philosophy

With 45 years of experience, Dan has had the privilege of representing clients from all areas of life. Their legal concerns have ranged from Estate Planning, Probate matters, buying and selling real estate, family law areas, and criminal defense. Dan loves these challenges and finding the best solutions for his clients.

For the first 24 years of his career, he was the prosecutor for Watonwan County on a part time basis. He has always had a private practice as well. His practice has covered 15 counties in Southwest Minnesota. Our firm has offices in Mankato, St. James, and Westbrook.

You are his most important client. He takes the time to meet with you and discuss all matters of your life relevant to your legal concerns. The more he knows about you and the history that brings you to our office, the better job he can do in meeting your needs and resolving your important legal matters.

For the past 5 years Dan has had the privilege of teaching Law at Bethany Lutheran College, in Mankato, Minnesota in their legal studies program. He teaches wills, Trusts and Probate administration, Contracts and Real Estate, Business Organizations, Family Law, Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Criminal Law. His studies can prepare you for Law School, obtain a 4 year Paralegal Certificate or Law Enforcement Degree.

Dan's current practice focuses on establishing estate plans and preparing the necessary legal documents including Wills, Trusts, Business Powers of Attorneys, and Health Care Directives. Gifts of cash, personal property, and real estate are often an important part of Estate Planning. This process can maximize the orderly transferred wealth from one generation to the next. The estate planning process also requires the evaluation of the need relating to long term care expenses.

Dan is not accepting any new clients at this time.
